APRIL 15th, 1912 – 113 YEARS SINCE THE
TITANIC SINKING
- The Titanic collided with an iceberg at 11:40 p.m. on April 14th, 1912.
- Captain Smith ordered the lifeboats to be launched and the women and children to be evacuated at 12:40 p.m. on April 15.
- The first lifeboat was launched at 12:45 a.m. on April 15, with 28 people on board.
- The Titanic sank at 2:20 a.m. on April 15, 1912.
- The Carpathia received the distress call and headed to the wreck site.
- The Carpathia set sail for New York with 705 Titanic survivors on board.

- Survivors: About 700 people survived the disaster.
