Thalía turned 49 in
August, full of new hobbies: she loves playing in TikTok, listening to the
K-pop group Blackpink and does not miss the Spanish language series with teen
cast that debut in streaming services.
It is this persona
inside the trends that dictates the direction of the singer's work this year.
In August, she
launched "La luz" in collaboration with Mike Towers, a 26-year-old
singer and upward sensation from the Latin trap. And
she chose the partner.

luz' with Myke Towers - Photo: Disclosure / Sony Music
"The song came
to me from Tainy's team last year. And when I listened, I said 'it's mine', I
loved it and thought of Myke. I said, 'Mike Towers is going to inject his style
so unique'. He has a very unique shape of singing, of structure, of lyrical",
she tells G1 during an interview by Zoom.
Thalía even
ventures in rhymes to accompany her partner. She says that this approach to the
urban genre, which includes Latin reggaeton, trap and rap, will set the tone
for the new album, due to be released in November.
"Today, the
form par excellence of global pop is called urban genre, this is the sound that
is in all Spanish-speaking countries and I love it, I want to play with
it."
The letters will
continue with their brand: party, love and "quentura". The singer
does not think of singing about the anxieties of quarantine in this work.
There was no lack
of material for this: Thalía was diagnosed with Lyme disease and said she felt
the effects of the fear of the Covid-19 pandemic on her nervous system.
"With anxiety,
the symptoms of Lyme disease accelerate and trigger. When you have a lot of
stress, your immune system drains and you feel much more painful, it triggers
the symptoms."

She says that the
team has Brazilian producers and composers. The look for Brazil became more
refined after he recorded "Tímida" with Pabllo Vittar earlier this
year.
When she spoke to
G1 in 2018, the singer said she was already eyeing Pabllo and Anitta. About the
first, she is just compliments: "I love this collaboration. Pabllo was so
wonderful in everything we did together and the music is powerful."
The Brazilian and
Mexican had already chatted on Instagram in 2018. But an opportunity came when
Pabllo produced the album "111", with songs in Spanish and English.
The invitation also came from that social network.
Thalía's album,
still unnamed, will be released at the end of the year, but there will be no
follow-up tour. The singer will exchange the shows for social networks.
"There are
still a lot of things to resolve in this new society that we are facing, so I
can't even think about shows. But because we have the platforms and this direct
connection, I'm fine."
She is present with
strategies defined in each network: on YouTube, she reviews her own songs and
created the "Vintage Thalía" movement to publish old presentations;
on Instagram, behind the scenes videos and testimonials; and on TikTok,
challenges and humor videos.
Thalía on TV?
After 20 years away
from the screens, she is getting ready to start acting again, but has ruled out
making soap operas again. His last one was "Rosalinda", in 1999.
"Lately, I
haven't found anything that makes me feel butterflies in my stomach, that says
'wow, I want to do this'. It didn't reach me. And I don't think it will be
going back to the soap operas because, for me, that was a golden time, but
that's it ”.
"Now they have
many other different platforms to continue acting, I love the series", she
says. "I'm just analyzing what comes, because they always arrive, and at
some point I will surprise everyone with something of performance", she
adds.
