IMPUNITY
EXISTS BECAUSE OF THE FAMILIES AND FRIENDS OF CRIMINALS
One
of the factors causing IMPUNITY in our society is that criminals also have
families who love them and friends who defend them. The situation would be a
little better if:
-
'My son messed up! He should be punished!'
-
'The company owner embezzled! He should be punished!'
-
'The building manager of my condominium "mismanaged" the accounts! He
should be punished!'
-
'Politician X committed corruption! He should be punished!'
-
'The soccer player I love raped someone! He should be punished!'
But
the son, the company owner, the building manager, the politician, and the
soccer player all have family and friends who cover up what they did/do.
*And
they even return to the crime scene as if nothing had happened. And family and
friends welcome them home, to the team, to the building's entrance, to the
company party.
