An empty and unnecessary season!
Well-crafted plot, well-told stories, well-made locations... everything
in the ‘Elite’ series has to work, and until the third season we have great
results. However, we do not know what happened to the authors that season four
is a bore. Everything that was built during the three seasons is destroyed in
the fourth. As Portal Omelet wrote, and very well, ‘Elite produces its most
boring and empty season. Season 4 of the series relies exclusively on sex and
self-destruction sequences’.
Season four begins with the school's change of direction. Ander's mother
is no longer the principal and Benjamin enters, who arrives at the school imposing
various rules that the group of students dislikes. Along with him, his children
arrive: Ari (Carla Díaz), Mencía (Martina Cariddi) and Patrick (Manu Ríos).
Stories have no context; the mystery has no reason to exist; everything
is an emptiness.
They placed a prince (Phillipe - Pol Granch) as a student of the
institution. What a meaningless character! He will have a relationship with
Cayatana (Georgina Amoróz), who, this season, is a cleaner at the school, in
her mother's place. In fact, she is the only cleaner at the school and
therefore cleans both women's and men's areas, which would be impossible to do.
Because of the prince, safety equipment is placed in the school, like area
search, cameras, electronic door.
Ari's role is to stand between Guzmán (Miguel Bernadeau) and Nadia (Mina
El Hammani), as well as being in a love triangle between Guzmán and Samuel
(Itzan Escamilla).
Mencía's character unfolds with Rebeka (Claudia Salas), who loses all
her independence, all her authenticity.
Patrick's character is placed between Ander (Arón Piper) and Omar (Omar
Ayuso), who, despite a whole story created in the previous three seasons,
nothing is taken into account. Ander decides that dating Omar is no longer
important and that he wants to live his life without being attached to anyone.
About the old characters (Guzmán, Samuel, Ander, Omar, Rebeca and
Cayetana), I say again: everything that was built gradually in the three
seasons is destroyed in the fourth. The maturation that these characters have
achieved over the three seasons is put aside in season four and everything
becomes meaningless.
Season four boils down to empty friendships based on party and sex,
which, incidentally, is a theme the authors made a point of reinforcing this
season. Everything is sex! They thought they were going to dare, seal up on
these poor relationships, but what happened was the opposite: the excess became
exhausting. In addition to this, another topic they focused on was
homosexuality.
Note 01: another season in which there are no black artists. Until today,
I did not understand this logic of this series. I am not here to seal up on
this matter. I just think it is weird that they just pick white characters. The
most they did was two black characters in season three, but with mediocre
stories.
Note 02: How can crimes have been committed without resolutions? Another
highly questionable point of the series. A group of teenagers who come together
to defend themselves and circumvent the system.
Let's hope that, if there's Season 5, the producers, writers, creators
will review these flaws from Season 4 and reshape the plot.
